Grade Three Art-
Students created their own color wheel in order to better understand the basics of color theory. First, they mixed the primary colors to get the secondary colors ( orange, green and violet). Then the colors were placed into the correct order on the color wheel. This was glued onto each child’s sketchbook so that students can refer to it throughout the year.
The bright and colorful bird masks turned out very well this year! During the last activity of “Paper Parade,” many paper cutting skills were introduced and used on the mask: curling paper, positive/negative space, bridges, repeating patterns, pop-ups, and fringe. Students learned how to select a color scheme and stick to it. The creativity and individual imagination has made each mask unique!
